Summary statement :
Islamic Relief began working in Chad in 2006, and formally opened a field office in 2007. Since then, we have received half a million pounds from the Department for International Development (DFID) to support our work with refugees and displaced people in Chad and Darfur, Sudan. As well as delivering essential emergency aid, we also focus on protecting vulnerable communities from the impact of disasters. Most recently, our work has seen us working in Chad's camps to provide much-needed assistance to people fleeing the violence in nearby Central African Republic.
