Summary statement :
Islamic Relief began working in India in 1994, delivering emergency relief and development projects alongside local organisations. Current development schemes include a project to prevent the spread of disease in remote rural communities, and supporting eight education centres for children living in a Bombay slum. Islamic Relief India was registered in 2008 as a Section-25 not-for-profit company under the Indian Companies Act. In 2010, our project to provide educational opportunities to girls won an honourable commendation in the UNESCO WENHUI award.
